Conditions that may cause a higher risk for serious RSV infection are:
Babies born at 35 weeks’ gestation or less
+
less than 6 months old at the start of RSV season
Babies and young children being treated for chronic lung disease in the past 6 months
+
less than 24 months old at the start of RSV season
Babies and young children who are less than 24 months old at the start of RSV season
It is important to be prepared and to stay alert when it comes to RSV. RSV infection can happen at any time of the year – however, there are months when RSV infections are more prevalent.
